Eliezer Yudkowsky does not work in tech. He has no training on computer science. Notice how he has to keep relying on things he's been told by the major AI companies, and their conclusions. His "AI research" is parroting the marketing material given to him by tech billionaires, and the "AI might doom us if we're not investing massive amounts of money to control it first" story is marketing material to get governments to spend big to be in control of a militarized AI system before their opponents.
