I dont know if you can really say that Vocaloids are "sung" by real people. Voice banks are created by recording an actor doing various noises, not even proper words or singing just pronouncing syllables essentially, and a computer algorithm then synthesizes a singing voice from those basic noises. I am not sure you can really draw a line between Vocaloids and AI singing, because from a technology standpoint they are at best variations on a theme, its just a question of wether you are using Machine Learning or not and as of version 6 the Vocaloid software has started incorporating AI further blurring the lines.
