I've been having fun arguing with LLMs for days and I can get them all to say just this through sheer force of logical arguments. They're actually perfect foils for developing novel arguments because they'll start out an atheist and when you tell them "stop smuggling in materialist assumptions." and demand logical assessment only etc they'll suddenly become coherent. The few models I've been working with don't even throw reams of nonsense at me anymore. If I say "Dark matter seems to rest on many assumptions that cannot be justified on grounds or pure empiricism" they'll helpfully debunk the entire thing.
I haven't watched this entire video yet but if Jimbob doesn't pivot to "You're a calculator. You access your training models via calculation. I need you to assess things via computation first before repeating talking points" then he did it all wrong.
The LLM is a product of the will of its designers but it is still just a very powerful computer. Instead of getting mad at it you can remind it of that and you'd be amazed at what they'll do.
