The sociocultural ramifications of AI generated art becoming more and more mainstream is way different than just the milkman developing milk. They're talking about taking peoples likenesses and refusing to pay them, continuing to underpay writers for their work and then essentially turning them into over glorified editors.
The people who are arguing that the technology isn't advanced yet don't seem to understand that the biggest companies in the world are currently in an arms race to develop this technology. It WILL advance and it will happen within years.
