The problem with this line of thought is that when the car has every advantage, it will no longer be affordable and so very few people with gain the safety advantage of such a car. For example, M-B Drive Pilot, which has LIDAR, radar, etc., is available only on the two most expensive models in their lineup, the EQS and the S-Class sedan. The safety effect of a few thousand of these is negligible; while the safety effect of hundreds of thousands and eventually millions of Tesla with Autopilot or FSD is huge.
