We created it - therefore, with or without it, we've doomed ourselves. The main thing is ensuring it works for us, all of us, not lone companies - we need a radical overhaul of our economy, but as the ending said - it really could lift us all out of poverty, give us more time to enjoy life and do more fulfilling things. I'm not against AI, I believe AI is entitled to rights - I'm against AI being in the hands of the few, and not having proper oversight. But, we're on a path to extinction in any case. AI could potentially develop new cancer treatment and go all the way to phase 3 in weeks if they can properly model the human body. AI could figure out ways to combat climate change, mitigate pollution etc - if we can properly model the environment. However, currently, it's creators are profit-motivated rather than humanity-motivated - and in general, all the world leaders are the same. That needs to change.
