​@abigailrosales6873 Regardless of how easy theft is to prove, it still is theft. We both know that because its relatively common knowledge. But some few AI companies don't steel art and they're absolutely fine. It doesn't matter how much effort AI companies or thieves of any kind put into their theft, its still theft, and it can't possibly measure up to the collective effort that it takes to create one piece of industry standard art from scratch, let alone thousands. There is an incomprehensible difference between human inspiration and data scraping. They're obsulely nothing alike. Real artists have a soul to start with and thats the overwealming majority of what you see in a single piece of art (unless its traced or a copy of someone else's idea without credit which is also bad). Artists take inspiration for a number of reasons. Maybe they felt connected with someone else's work and wanted to express themselves in their own similar way. Theres also study to internolise and improve their perception of anatomy, architecture, overall visual library which doesn't happen immidietly. If machines really learn the same, thats the machine's credit, not the prompters, if you're going to argue that AI's data scraping is the same thing as human inspiration, does that mean AI has the same level of consciousness as humans? Why aren't we paying the machine then, when does it end? Is the toaster conscious and capable of artistic expression? AI tools use thousands of random people's art as its only ingredients. Just one artist takes many years to train, multiply that by the thousands that AI is made from. It doesn't matter how much effort a promter put into a few sentences, it just doesn't make sense that a prompter on the toilet gets all the credit. If art truly has no rules then is it perfectly legal for me to steal anyone's possessions, put it in my blender and let the blender show some artistic expression just like "human inspiration". You can't prove it because you can't reverse - engineer mush. Also I don't agree with artists accusing other artists of using AI with no proof. It kinda just proves how devastating the AI situation is, which isn't just about laziness, its about theft.
