I completely disagree. AI and robotics are evolving faster than most people realize. The “tricks of the trade” you’ve learned through years of experience are just patterns; pattern recognition is exactly that at which advanced AI excels. Once a robot is trained on thousands of real-world remodeling examples, it won’t just match your experience, it’ll combine the collective wisdom of every skilled carpenter in history.
The idea that robots will “never” figure out custom work in old homes underestimates how quickly adaptive learning, vision systems, and tactile feedback are advancing. Humans once said the same thing about machines replacing factory workers, welders, and even artists. Now, AI can design blueprints, analyze structural weaknesses, and even simulate the best material choices faster than any person could.
Respectfully, it’s not a question of if robots will master remodeling, it’s only a question of when.
