100 years is ridiculous, but even in 2023 AI’s still pretty crude irl- we just give it a bunch of credit for the pretty basic stuff it does behind-the-scenes to seem impressive to us.
It’s like magicians. Sure it blows anyone’s mind when they first see it, but the more you learn the more “oh… I mean, clever, but I see that ‘magic’ is actually just tricks to us in the end”.
I’d give it about 15-20yrs before AI starts getting comparable to be as truly ‘magical’ intellectually as our own brains are. Not 100, but AI’s still way way way off from legit sentience-level capabilities in 2023.
