This has been debated for centuries and there are no easy answers. But the simple response is to say I know that inside your skull you have pretty much the same "wetware" as I do, and the AI doesn't. Also, it is mathematically provable that thought is not reducible to computation. (Check out Kurt Godel/Roger Penrose)
