You are a fucking fool to think it would be the AI really in charge.
They aren't making something to save us, they're making something to save them. They're trying to make a "God mode" button to make sure people like us are gone, or subjugated to where we can't be anything but slaves.
Of course, they'll fail, and the most powerful aspect of AI right now for the people in power is the fear it is creating.
