@PostEater No? You don't have control over how something's developed depending on how you use it. You are completely correct in that it depends entirely on the people directly involved in its development, and they are charging forward with AI no matter how people use it.
Refusing to use AI can work as a method to combat it though, since companies need to see returns on their investments. Using AI is only signifying to them that it is worth investing in. Not using AI shows them that it's a sham that nobody wants or needs, which is thankfully a trend that is currently happening.
The way it should be being fought is through regulation, but since the current government is in love with slop the best we can do as citizens short of organizing is boycotting. The mindset that "it's already here so WE are the ones that have to change" is defeatist and unnecessary.
