@thewannabecritic7490 Well, it still exists. It isn't going away. To deny it can or can't be used in this way or that way is denial, fear, hyperbole and subjective opinion. Because you refuse to explore beyond that fear and denial is your choice. Other humans are choosing otherwise. Worse, you are denying the very things that are still and will be exclusively human. I'm trying to distill down what those things are. I think art is one of those things. Regardless of the tool. I think that is good news for creative people. I disagree with the hyperbolic opinions of what AI is, and how it can or can't be used. AI could never possibly do this or that, while time and again, some human proves that it does do this or that in many domains. Human creative endeavor might be all that is left for us to do. Without the human input, no matter the analogy, no matter the tool, no matter how advanced AI gets, art cannot exist without the human input. It will be something else. A) Human directed art using AI (current point in time, humans using AI tools) B) Human art (traditional human-only creation) C) Autonomous AI creation (hypothetical future - AI creating independently): this will be that something else. It won't be art. A) exists regardless of the subjective opinions about it. In some ways, that very discussion, the hate, the critique, the discussion, the denial is why it can be conceptually considered as art. Humans are still playing Go long after AlphaGo surpassed humans at it. Same for chess. The same human to human exchange still exists if desired. I think art and all creative human endeavors will be that way too. Enhanced by AI used as tool, not replaced by it.
