Please provide a way to pry into someone's personal experience to see if they "understand" anything at all.

Do you? Do *you* know what a fact is? If you do, please prove it to me. If you could prove it, you'd solve one of the biggest problems in philosophy.
"AI doesn't understand anything" is a philosophically useless notion, yet evidently even smart people really cling to this one. I really don't know why. Why are we acting as if the problem of consciousness is solved?
