Good example since it's also not a problem in the way people are handling it just like deepfakes. We cannot control the planet in any meaningful way nor should we. To suggest we can or should is to think about humans biblically. But we are not special. We are just animals doing things. In fact there is actually one way we can but most people are all for it - space travel and mining are the real death knells of this planet. Letting things leave that belong in the system for this planet (you are part of this system, your meat being - especially en masse - should not be allowed to leave if you care about real planet destroying climate change) and bringing things back that don't are how you irrevocably screw everything up. We can prepare for the change coming but instead we're just going to go extinct while lawmakers at the behest of companies add a multitude of taxes on gas to drive the price of everything up until most people are starving and homeless. And they'll still want more. Similarly, the "problem" of deepfakes only arises from not telling people how stupid they are for believing everything they read and hear and, worst still, LETTING THEM BELIEVE THEY SHOULD. Especially online. And from telling them they should post all of their information online with no thought for how it might be used by bad actors against them. Things that 20 years ago were common knowledge and now we pretend otherwise for money and fame just like the companies who want you to post everything so they can farm your information.
