I have worked as a software engineer for 25. years. In my experience the effort to maintain code that AI would create at 10x is not worth it. That POC created at 10x with AI is going to be a nightmare to maintain. AI is good for small tasks like predicting the next block of code you might write or creating a small function that is close to what you might need with some modifications. Really bad at understanding best practices, design patterns, dependency injection, mocking, unit tests. Very limited if you want high quality, easy to test, maintainable code in many cases.
