How about... how many humans does it take to make a widget at a point in time? How much income tax do they pay? As AI replaces a worker and is more cost effective for the employer, the equivalent tax must be paid on the machine. Then UBI distributes this wealth to humans so they can purchase anything they desire. The bubble up effect keeps the system going and prevents massive chaos and ensuing violence.
