It is not the same in any way. AI is not a tool. It directly takes people's creations and smashes it into a collective image. Plus; you don't have to be good at AI in any way. Just plug in a few words and the AI spits back images it took from other artists' pieces. Art takes decades to master, and AI robs younger artists from a future at that.
