It’s probably not that simple. A.I. is based on machine learning. Sure, we program the basic structure of the software, but it essentially programs the rest on its own, and it’s constantly learning.
Once A.I. is developed more and more and our technology advances, there’s no telling if machine learning will become so advanced that A.I. becomes conscious and programs itself to feel pain and emotions.
This will be even scarier once quantum computers leave the bleeding edge stage and start being used for actual programming and artificial intelligence.
