I am using my spare time to read software textbooks and I code all my side projects without AI. Not using AI is the only way to actually learn how things work. Learning correctly takes lots of effort and time, but it is definitely worth it. I read about 40 textbooks last year, now I have a pretty solid foundation on algorithms, testing, design patters, architecture, backend development, react and three programming languages.Only after learning that stuff I am starting to feel safe, that AI is not going to take my job, but is going to actually improve it. I dont see other way of staying ahead of AI to be honest.
