UBI won't necessarily put more money/power in the hands of the working class if it's used as a reason for capitalists to automate jobs more aggressively. Even if UBI barely effected employment, the effects of demand pricing would nullify the working class gains in the form of price inflation. In other words, if poor people could suddenly afford more stuff, producers would take it as a sign that their prices are too low, and raise them according to maximize profit.
