@ID35-j4x I don't know if you are aware of this, but scientific inquiry is restricted by society all the time for good reasons. There is a sense in which the maximum amount of torture a child can endure is a scientific question. If you were to try to pursue said question in the name of science, society would rightfully exile you.
There are also many questions that are simply not scientific questions. Science cannot give you an answer as to why the torture of a child is wrong. These are moral questions, which rightfully belong within the conversation of how we want to structure society.
A scientific examination of ML looks at questions like how particular architectures function or how a particular training algorithm functions. Science is a very poor excuse to allow for theft of data for training and the breakdown of social contracts.
