Yep, they have robots who can do all sorts of complex tasks already, it's just a matter of time. It's maybe also a little bit that people love to hate tech people, because they don't understand tech and like to be able to go like "haha" (imagine the kid from the Simpsons). But it's just a matter of time. The Tech Bros watch these trends too, somewhere out there someone is already working on Plumber bot. There's actually already a machine in my country (Netherlands) that can lay down street tiles. This used to be something people had to do, it was hard work, a robot couldn't do it, a specialized machine can. Now they need one person to operate the machine, while they'd need a team of of six people otherwise to do the same work. The machine does it many times faster, with just one person working it.
People think of humanoid robots, there's gonna be giant robotic machines doing everything. 3D printed houses, etc., all a matter of time.
It reminds me of the 80s, when people said written letters would never go out of style in favor of email or phone.
