The main issue is that the studios want to green screen extras single day takes into an entire film or show.
So they want to hire the extras for a day with of work and cut in that work into an entire production.
One of many issues but that's what's effecting the majority of the unions at this point...
But at the end of the day it wouldn't be the first time that technology has made jobs obsolete.
Back in the day it took buildings filled with operators to connect phone calls which are now done automatically.
It sucks but that's the way time works. Things die and new things come about...
The workers should rightfully strike but at the end of the day cheeper labor might replace them which in the end will effect the quality of material for the viewer.
With how much money Hollywood makes, I'm surprised they don't just bake it into the cake at this point and keep the gravy train going. But the studios have to do what they feel is best for them...
The way the unions vote politically doesn't help them in this case because Democrats don't seem to care about the working class at all...
