I think some of the people in the traditional "real art" camp are being disingenuous when it comes to expenses. Yes, you can basically do it for free if you want (pencils and scrap paper aren't hard to find), just as you can use AI for free. But creating traditional art professionally can get very expensive very quickly, and you can't (or shouldn't) skimp on materials if you're selling the end result to someone else.
