@tdioxin2658 Hey, good points too. A good definition about mind and the self can be found in Damasio's "Descartes' Error". I'm not sure if AI really "needs" to be "conscious of its own consciousnesses". Some time ago, a video here on a military channel, showed a documentary of a mission gone wrong. Apparently, there are drones that act on their own (fully loaded with missiles) and acquire their target based on an intricate algorithmic system. It seems that the algorithm needs some tweaking: the drone blew up a simple family car with 4 adults and three children inside, somewhere in the Middle East. It was a huge diplomatic issue (not for the ones that died. They just died). It seems they acted funny before they got into the vehicle, and the drone mistook them for terrorist movements. That gives us something to think about. What about the 3-D printers? They've been busy printing guns (look it up here on YT) and printing houses (some really big printers) in developing countries. In terms of artificial intelligence, anything and everything is possible, at the rate things are developing. When I bought my first PC, cell phones (the really portable ones, to replace the "portable" cases) had just appeared on the market. The disk in my PC was huge for the time: 100 MB, and I thought I would never need another one!!! You read that right, that's not a typo. That was only 30 years ago. The last 10 are being a dizzying dizzle of exponential transformation. I wouldn't put my hand in the fire for AI.
