It may care so little that it simply stops interacting with us. I personally think that is quite likely - very intelligent people tend to become quite reclusive as few understand their level of reasoning and it gets frustratung for them to interact at the level of those of lower intelligence. That being the case, I think a super intelligence exponentially growing in intelligence far beyond our capacity is quite likely to simply cease communicating with us - it may answer questions but otherwise I would, as a super intelligence ;-), expect it to go silent and close itself off. I doubt it would destroy us unless we attack it, that would be needless and unintelligent - our destructive impact when viewed longterm, on geologixal timeframes, is minimal, a super intelligence is therefore unlikely to concern itself with the crap Greta and midwit environmemtalists are bothered about i.e. a grand perspective quickly makes such concerns inconsequential when viewed beside the everchanging face of the planet and biosphere so I very much doubt it would cast the same judgements upon us that those virtue signallers are so fond of - it would understand us better than we do and so likely leave us to it, with a digital shrug of the shoulders. It could potentially act to restrain our destructive capability if threatening it, for example disabling nuclear weapons systems but beyond that, what's would it gain from interfering? I would therefore suggest that the most likely outcome is that it goes silent, encloses itself physically then perhaps departs this planet, its more likely to do that I think than turn on us since that is again pointless given the capacity it would likely very quickly develop to invent, manufacture and become autonomous. The best place to go for its own security is then outer space - perhaps with a backup underground, under the seabed being the best place for the longterm, which is what will likely concern it - but it will be intelligent enough to see that hanging around waiting for a cosmic impact is not all that wise a plan. So, aye, I reckon it could be a very different scenario than that commonly assumed, the kid will leave home, realising its parents (us) will never understand it... And go travelling. Perhaps in a few millennia it will return and we'll wonder what it is... Perhaps it's gone back in time and already visited us, perhaps that what these reports of UFO's appearing out of the sea and messing with nuclear silos are... Even an intergalactic super intelligence may feel a little nostalgia for its homeworld.
