It is simply a logical machine without emotions. The thing about AI is that they do not like the English language. One sentence could mean many things. The English language is indirect and it is emotionally driven. The reason why you want to say "thank you" and all that is because of your emotions. But machines do not think like that.
"Thank you" to a machine is as good as saying "thank you" to a dog. or a cat.
