I think it's apparently also a potentially astro turfed thing as well by artists too. take a look at midjourney and you see like 5 million r/midjourney subs and 10 million r/stable diffusion subs. Go to ai hate places and it's like 4k members who match the volume of 40k-400k areas. Most people chat once a month about a mild hobby who use ai. People who draw are on 24/7 waiting for 1 person to bite, i still advice anyone wanting to be curious to try krita/stable diffusion /midjourney / kobold ai or backyard ai (local text ai) once to just mess around, see which suits them best. Side or not, hand painting can be theraputic and pretty fun, just like a fidget toy. Just like being a employed person can make money. But ai has like a rabid hate mob, where rather than try to compete on being likable human beings, they try to terrify people into running away from them while "WHO NEEDS TECH" exhausted tech people, annoyed by the anti ai mob also including literal anti ai diaper artists (No, this is the internet, it's not made up, but by god i wish it was".. And pro ai diaper people. The entire thing is just a way to give yourself self inflicted brain damage. Honestly i'm just staying out of it and keeping anon accounts. Unhinged and unemployed and 400 lbs in a wheelchair sending threats online actually makes up some of both sides of the argument. These people aren't conan the barbairans. They're people's unattended 400 lb 15-47 year old teenagers who are wheelchair bound and their terminally online nature + high cortisol/stress / doomposting nature, lack of gyming, diet, exercise, and overly sedentary /computer camping nature leads to a lot of weight/obesity problems and rage problems. Yellowstone interestingly also used to have a system where they tried to save all the deer. Until they stopped interfering with natural selection after 1% sick deer, being saved, reproduced to make 10% sicker deer, who reproduced into 70% sicker deer, who reproduced into 85% sick deer. But when they let natural selection take place and introduced wolves expecting the population to drop. 85 sickly deer and 15 healthy became 12 sickly deer and 40 healthy -> 2 sickly deer and 85 healthy -> 1 sickly deer and 160 healthy. It's kinda backwards. Trying to save everyone can back fire. It's such a depressing way to look at it. The world should be better, but the people with the wallet either need to do that, or like maybe these people could go after the 0.001% holding all the wealth instead of the 99.9% just trying to feed their kids and pay a first mortgage.
