Let's be real, artists are only furious now because they're standing to lose the monopoly on exploiting their clients financially.
No more charging $200 for a mediocre illustration that will take weeks to deliver so they have to belittle AI art to make it look less appealing or to gaslight/intimidate the client to feel like they're doing something immoral by generating/purchasing AI art.
I think you're also underestimating AI models' ability to mix various artstyles on top of already being able to generate all the styles they have in their datasets, that can also be supplemented with the use of LoRAs.
