@ the main problem at least for me is the way ai is trained is predatory in my opinion, but if its not used for commercial reasons i don't really care, id see it kind of like chess ai, its cool but its ultimately boring, the only problem is that unlike chess ai like stockfish, which is inherently chess theory made manifest, and is a great learning tool, ai mimics and tends to be bad at it, i rarely see any good reason an artists might need ai.
I might see it being used for ideation, i play dnd from time to time, and it can get rough to think of consistently interesting place names and such things when dealing with grunts or similar things, i might ask ai for examples after giving it themes, and i can use it as that focal point from where inspiration comes from, but thats only ai in its current form, i have no idea what kind of tools they might make with it, its entirely those people that try to pass of ai as being some new age form of expression that gets under my skin.
ai in part has already been in use in the animation industry with interpolation, its how its applied which makes ai acceptable.
