@jacobcarmen5861 Bullshit. You could pay for the UBI with taxes that aren't regressive. You have the circular reasoning that the UBI is to support people when automation takes most jobs then say that the UBI is in addition to the pay you get from the jobs that now no longer exist. What you are doing is setting up a vast pool of underemployed to be further exploited by employers. If we allow capitalists to control automation process and retain the profits, the vast majority of people will be impoverished. Welfare involves a great deal more than just throwing money at people. A UBI cannot replace the functions of a welfare system.
