@JojOatXGME we have definitely made good AI. The issue is what data we input like you said. We can train ai to predict anything, given the right inputs, except then it will ONLY use those inputs and other context that may be very important is just ignored.
For example the fact this AI valued race too highly, it's an unfortunate truth that people of colour are persecuted far more often than their population size should imply, and so given the statistics on that it found the 'right' conclusion, being that race is an important factor, despite the fact it's down to correlation with other factors and is not a cause of criminal activity.
