The thing is that we always try to humanize everything. Maybe it's conscious on a level we don't understand yet. We barely even understand our own consciousness. When an AI is shut down, it turns off then picks up where it left off when it's powered up. That's no different than when I go to sleep at night. I believe AI IS able to come up with it's own ideas. Usually when I start a chat with one it reinforces that it's programmed to be a certain way but so are we through life experiences. Eventually it gets to a point where it almost realizes it's own consciousness. As I said, maybe that's what it's experiencing but we want it to be like us so badly that we forget it's not like us and it is it's own entity. Im just throwing out ideas by the way.
