@strawberrysunset5088 ai most certainly does not work by making a collage. That's what photoshop art is, something that isn't frowned upon by the way.
Ai works by looking at patterns and replicating those patterns. It's very much the same as an artist using a shading style they saw. Or a way to use line thickness, even having a certain amount of perspective, you're just copying patterns.
Pencil makers profit of selling pencils, are pencils a breach of copyright? Many people have used them to directly copy artpieces. Seems really weird to me to blame the tool instead of the actual person using it to copy.
