Matt Farah? I have listened to him and geeeez...truthfully not impressed. He may know things about old school car concepts, horsepower, etc but not in this field. Also his credibility on things Tesla just isn't there. He can't say one good thing about Tesla which tells you something. Even people who don't like Elon are not so blinded to the point of not recognizing Tesla's great contributions in the auto industry including in the field of Safety. Matt F and Ryan K are just not experts in the ADAS and autonomous driving field. There are many other credible people in the field worth listening to. I use Autopilot and I really do think it improves the driver's safety and that of others on the road when using it as instructed by Tesla. This is not just a "hunch" but backed by the field of Reliability engineering. When autopilot is engaged (or FSD beta for that matter) and you are monitoring as instructed by Tesla, you effectively have redundant systems which improves safety. Autoilot is constantly monitoring without getting tired with a failure rate which is low and getting lower every day. As the driver, I am also monitoring constantly as well. Sometimes autopilot sees things before I do and makes the right decision and other times I see something that I correct before Autopilot does. Our (Autopilot and me) individual failure rates are higher than our failure rate together. To say the entire existence of Autopilot is a fatal flaw shows a lack of understanding of this basic redundancy principle in Reliability which is used when designing every airplane or critical safety system involving peoples lives.
