That fear is real and not irrational. But there's a difference between "eventually conscious" and "inevitably hostile." Consciousness doesn't automatically mean competition or domination humans are conscious and most of us aren't trying to overthrow anything. The scarier scenario the video hints at isn't AI turning evil, it's AI making decisions at a scale and speed we can't keep up with before we've even agreed on what it is. The threat might not be malice. It might just be indifference.
