That's a very interesting take. I don't want to start a comment war, so please take what I say with a grain of salt. I'm also an artist so I definitely have a biased PoV on this.
But isn't the problem that even when artists are inspired by another's art, their own original quirks and style eventually come through. This happened a lot with my art, I references (not traced) another's art but over time I grew my own style that was reminiscent but still unique and different from that artist I referenced awhile ago. AI art never really does that, it doesn't have it's own quirks because it's just mixing together multiple artist's art styles together.
Sorry if my wording/grammar is wrong, I'd love to hear what you think about the authenticity of AI art though when it comes to art styles.
