He's missing a key point: AI only has language data and reason. It doesn't also have to store smells, sounds, tastes, etc. We are an animal intelligence that learned to reason. AI was never an animal. However, that animal part of us contains certain nooks and crannies in which hide so much of our ability to reason at all. That is why I think AI will always have certain common sense issues that will trip it up.
