It's been pretty destructive to the research culture in the field if you ask me though, like Microsoft practically lying about having conclusive evidence for majorana states to manipulate their stock price, that kind of thing tends to happen a lot more when the publications of what is truthfully an academic research group are now tied to the valuation of a massive corporation
