However, i believe the Point here is: we do not see to what, exactly, the old man in the film reacts.
It might even be a joke told off-screen he hears.
And while the basic reaction to those feelings are visible to us - the smile on the face - and is an emotional reaction, the feelings behind that reaction are not known to us.
Therefore, not known to an Algorithm that only uses the Information from that face.
