@Lost.D.Zoro64 I mean software devs produce trash code for at least their first 5-10 years. That's a known fact. Companies used to be willing to train employees though.
Honestly I think developers should remind themselves how much training and mentoring they received and maybe give a bit of mentoring to new devs. Hard skills still matter. Without AI it was way harder to debug. You'd sit there for days looking at StackOverflow posts to figure things out. You used to learn how to figure stuff out.
My first supervisor once told me I could always ask, but I should at least figure out it wasn't something obvious. Then he taught me basically everything about being a developer. I did a 3-year apprenticeship in Germany. Was great to get the time to learn. Only issue was the salary.
