Kirmie44 or he’s saying that ubi is not a good enough solution to the issues that capitalism and automation have created/will create, the money that is given to people will just be funneled back up to the top, and he instead argues that a more fundamental issue needs to be fixed which is that the people have no control over the means of production and therefore no real power in comparison to the wealthy corporations that own all of the valuable resources. Yes, giving workers collective ownership of the means of production would be a “socialist” ideal, but his issue with UBI is not that it is “capitalist”, redistributing wealth in this way could be considered socialism as well. His issue is that UBI still allows capitalism to keep its power over the working class.
