@grafgrantula6100 Well, I work in the field (AI research at Iliad), though of course you might not have a reason to believe me. So let me put it this way: ask your LLM about the distinction between the full assistant stack (ASR, TTS, encoders, tools) and the actual multimodal transformer core. What you quoted is true at the system level, because there really are multiple components working together. But in most modern multimodal models, once images or audio are encoded into tokens, a single shared transformer attends to all of them in one latent space and does the actual reasoning. So it's fair to say "LLMs can see and listen" in the sense that the same core model is jointly reasoning over text, vision and audio, even if there are separate encoders wrapped around it.
