"Wait a bit" seems like I'll advice to me.
Instead: learn where AI is headed by understanding how it works, looking at the progress made over the past few years.
Learning at least basic high level coding concepts seems helpful in many areas of life. Being okay with things not working the first 20 attempts, creative problem solving etc. Those high-level transferable skills can definitely be learnt while learning to code.
Tasks that require real-world interaction are slower to automate than purely digital tasks. Robotics is good, but it's not as capable as digital agents yet. But robots get better through better simulation. Better simulations can be written by digital AI agents.
But even if we have robots that can do any physical task, producing the required millions to billions of robots would still take years.
Don't just look at where we are, look at how things are changing. Predictions accounting for derivatives are better than those that don't.
