@globohomoenjoyer69 unfortunately it's true for a large swathe of the population, though. enough of them are superficial enough the op's comment applies and it is enough to have companies chomping at the bit to shove "ai" (it technically isn't even that) into every single metaphorical orifice they can.
which, fortunately, is backfiring, because more and more people are getting sick of it... just, not to the point that companies are willing to pull back. no, they're still going ahead to the degree that they're building data centers, and from what i can tell they're building them by small towns that don't have the leverage or money to resist. which is scummy af and has me worried, as someone living in a small town with notable amounts of groundwater that has been hoodwinked by millionaires before. all the while, those electricity bills are looking pretty spicy... which may well be another nail in the eventual coffin. if people bother to do anything about it.
