@andyranimations I understand your concern about fair use and compensating artists, but I think there's a broader perspective we're missing here. Throughout history, technological advancements have always disrupted creative industries - from photography challenging portrait painters to digital art challenging traditional mediums. AI is simply the next evolution.
Regarding the training issue, the internet has always been a public space. When artists post their work online, they're essentially making it available for viewing and learning. AI training is fundamentally no different from how human artists learn by studying and being inspired by others' work. If artists truly want to protect their art from being used in any way, they need to be more cautious about where they display it - that's just digital common sense in 2023.
The reality is that many creative jobs have evolved or been replaced by technology over time. That doesn't mean the artists weren't talented - it means the market changed. Perhaps it's time for some artists to view art as a passionate hobby rather than a primary career, just as many other professions have had to adapt.
