@LeifH-s You're completely misunderstanding the point. What everyone seems to think they are saying is that some people are just born good at art and it takes no effort for them. That's not it at all. It takes hard work for everyone, but here's the thing, hard work doesn't guarantee that you get good at art. "Talent" here mostly means your potential and ability to learn something. And not everyone can learn art, even if they work just as hard as the artists who get really good. Here's an example, I have been trying to learn art for as long as I can remember. I drew constantly as a kid, I've tried learning as much as I could, and in school I took tons of art classes. Even in college, I'm still taking art classes. And you know what? I'm still terrible at it. And everyone's response when you say not everyone can do art? They all say things like "Pick up a pencil lil bro". The assumption is that anyone who thinks that is just lazy and never tried to get good at art. You all assume that we just aren't willing to put in the work. Well, I've been trying for 20 years. It's not for lack of trying. Another assumption that I keep seeing is that no one could possibly side with ai in any context unless they were obsessed with it and couldn't do anything on their own. I don't use ai, especially not for art, and I don't plan too. And obviously, how ai works now with stealing isn't ok, but that doesn't mean that if it was made properly it would still be just inherently bad. That fact is that not everyone can do art, and those people can't express themselves visually at all. Ai at least gives them a way to have some way of putting their thoughts on paper when they have no other way. And you want to know what the real insult is? When you spend 20 years trying to learn art all in vain, and everyone tells you "everyone can do art, you just aren't trying hard enough". I don't like ai art, but it has a place in the world, and can help people that need it. But of course, since everyone just hates the very idea of ai in any context and think of it as inherently evil, no one is willing to see it that way, and here we see nothing but thousands of comments making fun of anyone who can't do art and saying they are just lazy and ignoring any points made.
