He was bringing it up a couple of years before it became trendy. But he was part of a group that said 80% of jobs would be eliminated by 2025. So many "experts" have been way off on the timelines. They created panic back in 2020, and over time a lot of people (myself included) started to worry less. It's mid 2025 and at best AI can deliver information much easier than standard search engine, can do some impressive things with creative generative AI, can help write computer code, and LLM's can seem pretty humanlike in responses.. but that's completely different than most of the workforce being "replaced". I am glad that people are paying attention to the future impact of AI, but I also think there's been way too much hype over current capabilities.
