The difference when a human does it and when an AI does it is that humans aren't capable of the sheer quantity an AI is!
Human artists are also just taking inspiration, not stealing, as much as you may hate to hear that.
They aren't taking millions of real peoples' drawings for creating a database and training themselves on it for the express purpose of outperforming them for some corporation, either. It literally is not the same thing.
The problem is even worse when artists get laid off in favor of it!
